The “herbs of Provence”, is a mixture of aromatic plants. It is mixture of thyme, marjoram, wild thyme, sage, savory, oregano, tarragon, rosemary, chervil, basil, sage, bay and fennel. You can grow these herbs from Provence in your own garden to have a taste of your own homemade mixture of herbs of Provence! In addition, you can find most of these herbs in a composition of a bouquet garni to use in all your dishes.
The recipe of mixed herbs of Provence – Red Label – is a composition of 27% rosemary, 27% oregano, 27% savory, 19% thyme.

How to use our mixed herbs of Provence in your kitchen ?

Put the mixture in any of your dishes and you, immediately, have a taste of Provence! In particular, you can add mixed herbs of Provence in all dishes that contain tomatoes (Ratatouille, Provencal tomatoes, stuffed etc …). Our mixed herbs of Provence also accompany your pan-fried vegetables, grilled meats, stews, roasts, fish, salads, quiches, pizzas, savory pies, pasta, sauces …

The manufacturing of organic herbs of Provence

To obtain organic herbs of Provence, the land has to be organically cultivated for at least 3 years. The preparation of the land is essential and therefore it is necessary to grow intermediate plants to enrich the soil with nutrients. This also cleans the land in a natural way while preventing weeds from settling there. Ideally, 3 years of intermediate cultures of plants such as Sainfoin, phacelia … are necessary for 3 to 4 years of organic aromatic plants.
Once the land is prepared, as from the month of March, small plants of organic thyme, organic rosemary, organic oregano, organic savory and other organic herbs of Provence are planted.
Then the land has to be maintained without any chemicals. Remove all weeds that can alter the growth of the organic herbs. And for a normal development feed the organic herbs with natural fertilizer and water.
From September to February, it is harvesting time. Seasonal workers are called in to help with the harvest because it’s a long-term job under the Provence sun.
After harvesting the organic herbs are sorted and recut. Afterwards they get assembled and dried. Once the drying is over, you can make your mix of organic herbs and put them in pretty jars.
